For adding two health systems to the network Jan. 1, Care Quality merges with Accountable Care Organization (ACO). The networks are Beebe Healthcare in Lewes and Atlantic General Hospital and Health System in the region of Berlin, Maryland. As eBrightHealth ACO, accountable care organization (ACO) will start doing business. ACO is also participating in the Medicare Shared Savings Program initiated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to advance the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The coordination and cooperation among providers is being facilitated by MSSP to make better the quality of care for Medicare beneficiaries and to decrease the unnecessary charges.
In regard to 2 new health systems, ACO consists of Christiana Care Health System, Bayhealth, Nanticoke Health Services, Westside Family Healthcare and several community physician practices. Utilizing the name eBrightHealth, ACO aligns it with the statewide eBrightHealth network. The eBrightHealth ACO will sustain to give the similar care transformation strategies to its Medicare beneficiaries that the eBrightHealth network will give to its sufferer populations.
