DoD: Cerner EHR implementation to reach next milestone in the month of July

The U.S. Department of Defense has publicly claimed that its Cerner EHR deployment will arrive on time at the Naval Hospital in Oak Harbor, Washington.
DoD states that through a tweet carrying the message: “MHSGenesis will deploy at the next IOC site later this month,” from the handle @DoD_EHR by the Program Executive Office of DHMS, otherwise termed as Defense Healthcare Management Systems.

Stacy Cummings, DoD Program Executive Officer, changed the timeline in the year of September 2016, citing previously unknown problems that arose during software testing and the requirement for creating the best user experience possible.
Congress, in the month of May of 2017, mandated that new quarterly timeline updates be added to the massive electronic health record (EHR) modernization project, involving schedule, charges and progress reports.
A spokeswoman of Cerner also stated that "Oak Harbor will transition to MHS Genesis later this month." Indeed, while the Oak Harbor deployment hasn’t technically happened as of press time — and EHR rollouts have surely been known to change at the previous minute — the public statement coming from the Program Executive Office of DoD demonstrates the next milestone will be reached.
Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin, MD, disclosed in the month of early June that VA intends to also adopt EHR of Cerner.
