Maryland Physicians Care rolled out a new app with the ability to text and video chat with emergency room doctors last month. MyVirtualMPC can be used to ask queries. All that adds up to more convenience for our members and less time waiting in the ER.”
The app, which taps tech from CirrusMD, is presently being offered to MPC members, which number almost 200,000. The statewide org is owned by various hospital systems, and offers free care to members. The new app is staffed by doctors through Germantown-based Sky Physicians. It is an iconic instance of telemedicine’s potential to enhance access to health care.
